Reolink RTSP/ONVIF setup note (added Oct 22, 2026): on many current Reolink models, RTSP and ONVIF (and on some, HTTP) ship switched off. Reolink says to enable them once in the Reolink App or desktop Client under Network > Advanced > Server Settings, or in the web interface where it is reachable12. For cameras attached to a Reolink NVR or Home Hub, enable the ports on the NVR/hub instead1. The App and Client can manage a camera as a "Local Device" using only its UID, username and password, so no Reolink account is needed for this step3. Home Assistant users report the same out-of-the-box behavior on recent firmware4.

- Ubiquiti UniFi G4 Doorbell Pro (90): fully local through a UniFi OS console you must buy separately; Ubiquiti documents local-only setups without a UI account and app-to-console end-to-end encryption, and says it cannot access your video. Loses points for a December 2023 cloud incident and no explicit no-sale statement. 56
- Reolink Video Doorbell (PoE / WiFi) (82): records to microSD or a Reolink NVR, supports RTSP and ONVIF, and works without an account in "Local Device" mode. We found no end-to-end encryption claim, so that criterion scores 0. 73

Which popular doorbells do not work offline?
Ring says its devices require an active internet connection 12, and Blink cameras need a 2.4 GHz internet connection 13. Google's Nest doorbells keep up to one hour of events in internal memory during an outage and upload them later; you cannot access that memory directly. 14
